SDG 4: Interventions to Improve Teachers’ Data Literacy for Quality Education
For making teaching an evidence-based profession, teachers’ ability to use data effectively for decision-making is crucial. However, a significant challenge remains in preparing teachers to use data effectively in their instructional practices. Our latest policy brief, “Interventions to Improve Teachers’ Data Literacy for Quality Education,” addresses this critical gap in the Indonesian education system. Despite the government’s commitment to educational reforms, many educators are unprepared to leverage available data for informed instructional decision-making, impacting the quality of instructional practices and student learning outcomes. This policy brief presents evidence-based recommendations for implementing well-designed professional development interventions (PDIs) to improve teachers’ data literacy for teaching. By equipping teachers with such literacy, teachers/educators can improve instructional practices and student learning experiences in an evidence-based way to improve the quality of education.
